The Celebration Singers Children's Chorus, formed by Tom Pedas in 1996, is one of very few tuition-free Children's Choir in the state of New Jersey. It was created to give children the opportunity to learn and perform music, ranging from light classics to Broadway show tunes. "We are a unique group in that the children's choir is an extension of the adult choir," said Pedas. Though there are many individual adult and children's choruses throughout New Jersey, no other children's chorus is sponsored by an adult chorus
"In Europe," explains Tom Pedas, "there are lots of opportunities for families to sing together in community choirs. We have that in this country, but not to such an extent."
This is finishing the tenth year for the Celebration Children's Choir. During this time, over 200 young people have received a wonderful tuition free choral experience and the opportunity to sing with the adult choir.
