James M. Lubrano has been performing as a freelance collaborative artist and chamber musician throughout NJ, NY, and PA for the past ten years. He performed in the UNICEF/Steinway “Peace Piano” World Tour Showcase at the Kimmel Center and at the Colorado College Summer Chamber Music Festival. His chamber music coaches include Anne Epperson, Gary Hammond, John Novacek, Stewart Rose, and Phillip Ying. His teachers include Tomoko Kanamaru and Barbara González-Palmer. Mr. Lubrano has served as an accompanist for various high school, university, and adult choirs including CJMEA Region II Women's Choir, NJ Governor's School of the Arts, NJ Youth Choir, and Raritan Valley Choral Society. He has also accompanied and/or musically directed over 80 productions and musical reviews for several theater companies throughout New Jersey.
Mr. Lubrano holds a B.A. in Statistics from The College of New Jersey, where he is currently a Staff Accompanist (vocal/instrumental), as well as an Adjunct Instructor for the Lyric Theater Department. He is pursuing a M.M. in Collaborative Piano Performance at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, and is a Staff Accompanist for its Dance Department as well.
Cherwyn Ambuter holds a B.A. in Music from Tufts University, and an M.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). While at Tufts she won first prizes in both Tufts music competitions. Her teachers have included Gail Niwa, Eugene and Elizabeth Pridonoff. Her chamber music coaches have included the Tokyo String Quartet, Raphael Trio, Yehuda Hanani and Jack Kirstein of the LaSalle Quartet. Mrs. Ambuter has collaborated in chamber recitals with members of the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Opera. She has served as an accompanist with choral societies, university/high school choirs and the Cleveland Contemporary Youth Orchestra. She has also accompanied recitals of private instructors’ studios (vocal and instrumental) and musical theater.
Mrs. Ambuter does occasional work as an accompanist with the New Jersey State Opera. She served as staff accompanist for university vocal programs. Her solo and chamber music performances have been presented in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Boston, New Jersey, Vermont and in Paris. Mrs. Ambuter recently presented along with a violinist at the world premiere concert performance on the music of Italian composer, Alfred Morena Sr. This prestigious event was held at the Center for Italian and Italian-American Culture in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Mrs. Ambuter completed a minor emphasis in choral conducting while at CCM. She has directed church choirs in Cincinnati and at the Calvary Baptist Church (current). She currently serves as organist at the Calvary Baptist Church. Cherwyn is also an accompanist for the Morris Conservatory and The Celebration Singers.
Mrs. Ambuter makes her home in Vernon, New Jersey with her husband Hal, their three children and the family cat "Toot-Sweet", named after the whistle-candy in "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang."
